Cloaked in Freedom is dedicated to helping Military Members, Veterans, and First Responders display their patriotism & service with products made from U.S. Military issue camo.

When I was little, my grandma would come over and visit me. She would bring her sewing, and I would sit with her and sew and ask her questions about sewing. She was a nurse in the Army in WWII. She married my grandfather when she left the Army and lived on their dairy farm. She would fix the farmer's jeans in the area. She cut out denim squares and made a blanket when the jeans were too far gone.

I grew up and joined the Navy Seabees. I was deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, in 2005 for seven months. While there, the band Rascal Flatts came and did a U.S.O. tour for the troops. There were about 300 of us there at the concert. There were guns everywhere, of all kinds. And there were Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, all together, singing "Mayberry." We were a dancing, moving sea of camouflage. After the concert, I remembered my grandma's blanket from farmers' jeans. "If I ever get home from here," I thought, "I want to make an American Flag Blanket out of soldiers' uniforms from all the military branches to represent all the branches serving America."

So I did. And that's how I started Cloaked In Freedom.
